MVC provides a co-ordinated program, including related specialists, to assist athletes with their overall development and to support them achieving the most they can from their swimming.
Helen Walker

Sports Physiotherapist Helen Walker has over 20 years experience, and a special interest in, the treatment of swimming related injuries. Helen is a provider to the VIS swimming program and has worked with Australian Swimming for many years. Helen was the physiotherapist for the Australian Swimming Team at the Montreal World Championships (2005) and the Melbourne Commonwealth games (2006). In 2010, Helen completed her PhD investigating risk factors for competitive swimming shoulder injuries.
Andrew Cameron

Andrew graduated from the University of Melbourne’s Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2011Since graduating, Andrew has completed a dry needling course as well as working in aged care and with the AFL Umpires Association where he has had to treat a variety of complex sporting injuries. Andrew conducted musculoskeletal screenings of Melbourne Vicentre’s swimmers in 2012 alongside Helen Walker. With 10years of national level swimming experience, including a bronze medal at the 2012 Australian Short Course Championships, Andrew has extensive knowledge of swimming biomechanics. Andrew has a strong passion for working with and treating athletes and he aims to further his studies by completing a Master’s in Sports Physiotherapy in the near future.
Mark McGrath
Mark is Australia’s leading Movement Sophistication Coach and has been one of the most experienced Physical Preparation and Performance Coaches in Australia. He has been working in the field of elite athlete preparation and performance for 18 years. In this time he has worked at the Victorian and Australian Institutes of Sport, consulted to Tennis Australia and co-developed a national movement education program for the Bluearth Foundation. Mark has worked with many swimmers and has had long association with Olympic Gold Medallists James Tomkins, Nick Green and Drew Gin, World Cycling and Tour de France Champion Cadel Evans, F1 Driver Mark Webber, and worked closely with Chris Judd from 2007-09 on his rehabilitation back to full fitness. Melbourne Vicentre is goverened by a Board of Directors elected from the general membership at the Annual General Meeting in accordance with the club's constitution. The Board consists of five elected Directors and up to two additional Directors.

MVC members elect two captains and two vice captains each year.
Nominees must be and prepared to accept the responsibilities of the position, attend Club functions and undertake public speaking if required, participate in Club meets, be a role model for the younger swimmers and encourage all Club members to achieve their best. They must support the Club, Coaches, Staff and the Board
